What's Happening This Week at Star of the Sea
Happy New Year! We hope everyone was blessed over the Christmas holidays and truly felt the love of Jesus in their houses. We are back at it now, and start a new year with excitement and new beginnings filled with hope.
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mrs. Bernadette Deeley with our community. Mrs. Deeley was a vibrant member of the Star of the Sea staff who after a battle with cancer, passed peacefully this morning. We will remember her fondly at our planned school Mass scheduled for Friday, January 11th, 2019 at 9:00am at Good Shepherd Church. She will be gravely missed and we ask families to pray for her soul and for her family as they go through this incredibly challenging time.

**Procedure for re-registration package return**
All completed re-registration packages are due back to the school by the morning of Wednesday, March 06, 2019. This deadline will be strictly enforced!! Completed Re-registrations that are NOT in by March 06, 2019 will risk losing the placements for their children in our school.
** Please check your supply of cheques at home now, as the common comment that we hear for not being able to complete the re-registration packages on time is: ‘I’ve run out of cheques and am waiting for the order to come’. You will require 3 cheques total (PPP & tuition).
If you aren’t able to attend the AGM and would like another family to pick up your package and tax receipt, we would need an email or written note to that effect prior to the meeting. Thank you.
All families are required to register their families into the hot lunch on-line ordering system EACH YEAR. To do so please go to: https://staroftheseaschool.hotlunches.net/admin.
Click the REGISTER tab on the top right of the page.
Enter our school access code: STAR2018 (case sensitive)
Complete the registration page, add your children to their classes and order your hot lunches for the Feb. 6&20, March 6 and April3rd dates. By registering a class contact list is automatically generated for each classroom that is only accessible by families in that class. Once you have completed the hot lunch orders for your family simply send in your payments (cash or cheque), please include the remittance form with payment. If you are unable to print the remittance form, please indicate your child/children's full name (first & last name) with the payment. The hot lunch schedule and the web site was open on Jan. 7th, and orders and payments must be received by January 28th.
For those families that missed the opportunity before Christmas Break, we are trying to get an idea of the number of Kindergarten (and/or other grades) that will have new siblings entering the school in September 2019. Please email the school office at email@example.com with the full name, date of birth and grade that the child will be entering in September. Thank you to all families that have already replied.
